Everybody was covered in green clay exiting the show. We had to have destroyed their championship tennis clay court setting. They served cocktails at this show. They had helicopters flying around the stadium the whole show making us a bit nervous. The show rocked out. We stayed up the night before drinking and driving to Indi from Chicago. Was not smart, but we were stupid young. We slept in the lot that day. Except one of us, who under sleep deprivation, fell asleep during d/s and had to be rescued from the security guards wanting to arrest him. It was quite an outdoor venue. We were not going to Pine Knob the next day, but somebody came up to us and had 9th row center seats for under cost. So we went to Pine Knob, and The Starlight Th, and 5 Seasons Center on the 4th, and ended at Alpine Valley. It was a bender gone wild baby! Tried to slip in an extra show before Alpine and end up lost on tour! Thank you The Grateful Dead for the best times of my life. (no rating b/c im lazy)

beautiful sound, beautiful show
an easy 5 in my mind for cumulative excellence; first set is hot and second set opens up like wine with a little air... ending seemed just a little rushed after stella blue, but so what?

A lot of unique things about this show.
Post 1980, one of a vary few first set Lost Sailor > St. Of Circumstances. With the Deal finsher, gave us an LSD end of 1st set.
The only Shakedown > Playing > Terrapin, and one of only a handful of times all three were played in the same second set.

Another Fine, Fine Day!!
I love cycling through the "anniversary" of shows and reminiscing about the days past w/ the Boys! Indy was super fun (saw 6/30/84, 85 and 88...) and a great little venue; was actually a tennis center as many have noted; This really captures the sound of this show well; perfect summer day, show wasn't even sold out (as was still common at times in 84) and it was a Saturday!
Listening to this now w/ headphones and just caught Lost Sailor tease before Esau! Great stuff...

Nice to have
Like Jack' O said, its a good sounding audience recording through most of the first set, when it gets to the soundboard portion its worth it, firing on all cylinders.
Second set is really varied and well performed on a tour that was hit or miss. Nice long post drums. This is the only available board for this show so go ahead and grab it while you can.
